Disney has finally released its dark and eerie trailer for its upcoming live action film Cruella, starring Emma Stone.
By the looks and the title of it, the movie is going to serve as the origin story of the One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) antagonist, Cruella de Vil, and is surely going to be “brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad,” just as the Cruella Twitter account posted.
The words ring true as, in the trailer, Stone is displayed showing off a rather narcissistic attitude throughout the just over a minute and a half bit. Snippets include everything from the iconic furry coat-wearing character making a grand ballroom appearance where she eventually reveals her wicked black and white hair and bold red lipstick look, to hot wiring a car to burning down a city building, as well as other evil action scenes.
In the director’s chair sits Craig Gillespie, who previously took the lead for crafting for I, Tonya with Margot Robbie. Other cast members include Emma Thompson, who plays the role of the Baroness, Joel Fry, Emily Beecham, Mark Strong and Paul Walter Hauser. Watch the official trailer below, and expect the film to arrive on May 28, 2021.
